Vietnam and Laos are, perhaps, two of the most culturally rich areas in all of Southeast Asia. When you step foot in each country you cannot help but be taken aback by the overwhelming beauty of each place and the unmistakeable feeling of "arriving." While both countries offer an unfiltered look into what life was like not too long ago, neither feels stale in their efforts. The more time you spend in either of these countries, the more you discover how freeing living simply can be.
- Kayak from sandy beaches to limestone caves and the remains of floating villages on Vietnam’s Ha Long Bay.
- Explore three very different UNESCO World Heritage sites in three different countries: Hûe’, Ha Long Bay, Vientiane
- Hot air balloon rides with mountain and river views
- Get to know local people during meals, and ceremonies
- Drive dune buggies, go tubbing or kayaking in Laos
*All inclusive is the total price that you would pay over time with the CP Travels payment plan option. It includes flights, room, Ha Long Bay tour and ground transportation.
**Full itinerary below
Days 1 & 2 — Hanoi
After breakfast, we fly to Hanoi, a beautiful old city of colonial architecture and ancient temples. Explore the Old Quarter by rickshaw, where merchants will try to sell you everything...literally everything. If you wish, attend an evening performance of traditional water puppetry before dinner. The next morning, visit the Temple of Literature—Vietnam’s first university—and discover the city’s restaurants on your own tonight.
Days 3 & 4 — Ha Long Bay
Take a morning drive to the World Heritage site of Ha Long Bay, where we'll grab a traditional-style wooden junk. After a short kayak lesson we'll venture out and explore different parts of the bay. (2–6 miles paddling, 2–4 hours)
Day 5 — Vang Vieng, Laos
After breakfast, drive back to Hanoi and fly to Vang Vieng Laos. Settle in to our accommodations and prepare to for the next few days of adventure. Hot air balloon rides over the mountains and terrains as an intro to our first night is an option.
Day 6 — Vang Vieng, Laos
Spend the day tubing or kayaking down the Name Song river with travelers from all over the world. There are restaurants and bars that line your path down the river from start to finish. After this, a dune buggy adventure throughout the city is next on our agenda. Get up close and personal with the locals and livestock in the cultural areas of Vang Vieng.
Day 7 — Vang Vieng, Laos
After breakfast we will venture to the blue lagoon and water caves. Jump off a medium high cliff into crystal blue waters, and then tube underneath a cave to explore what lies beneath. Later we'll rent bikes and explore the unique communities and towns that Vang Vieng has to offer.
Day 8 — Vang Vieng, Laos
Depart for home.
