For centuries, Greece has been a destination sought by travelers, artists and philosophers alike. It, undoubtedly has one of the richest documented histories in the world which it owes, in part, to the numerous scholars who came to the isle to study in some of the finest libraries and universities known to man.

Ancient Greece was not only home to some of the world's most highly regarded minds, but it's mythology- the stories of Zeus and Hera and Ares- is one of the most well-known in history, and the cuisine is nothing short of mouthwatering.

This blue paradise has captivated globetrotters for centuries and the capital city of Athens is the centerpiece which helps to make this one of the most popular travel destinations in Eastern Europe. It's no surprise that every year thousands of tourists flock to the ancient city to visit to take in the rich history, and to dip into the waters of the Aegean.

While Greece may be most famous for its ancient buildings and stories of Gods and Goddesses, more recently it has become a haven for tourists seeking an island getaway on some of its many surrounding islands.

The entire country consists of the continental landmass of Greece as well as an archipelago comprised of over 1,500 individual islands each with their own unique cultures and personalities.

The largest and most well known: Crete, Rhodes, and Lesbos typically gather a lot of attention from visitors; for the duration of our trip we will be narrowing our focus and concentrating on two of the smaller islands:  the island clusters of Santorini, Mykonos, and Zakynthos.

In recent years Santorini has become a hot spot for travelers from around the world. It's peak season for traveling is during the hotter summer months and is typically filled to the brim with visitors seeking the perfect island getaway.

During the off-season you're in for a much different experience, with much quieter streets, cheaper prices and a better sight-seeing experience.

DAY 1- Athens

After landing at the Athens Airport, you will be met by your CP Travels guide and taken to your hotel. If you're arriving during the early morning/ afternoon, then it's recommended that you take a stroll around the Acropolis. In the evening we’ll gather for a welcome dinner of authentic Greek food.

DAY 2- Athens

Today we're getting out and exploring the city. We'll take it easy today since we might still be suffering from a bit of jet lag. Our guide for the half day tour will come to get us from the hotel and take us around to all of the must-see spots in Athens.

DAY 3- Athens/SantorinI

It'll be an early morning as we transfer from our hotel to the port by our driver to embark on the ferry to Santorini. The ferry from Athens to Santorini takes about 8hrs so it'll be a nice, long, relaxing boat ride. Enjoy the view of the various islands that we pass from the top deck of the boat, and for those who are prone to seasickness, there's indoor seating as well. On arrival we have a transfer to our selected hotel for our 3 nights stay in Santorini. We'll end the evening with a sunset dinner in the capital, Fira.

DAY 4- Santorini

Today is a free day for exploration.  This crescent shaped volcanic island, known as the "Lost Atlantis", is fascinating for its white houses on the rocks and black sand beaches. There are a number of villages to explore, but I recommend setting out to explore either the city of Fira or Akrotiri. Fira is the capital city of Santorini and home to the Caldera which is the island's most popular site. During peak season the narrow streets are often overcrowded with tourists and filled to the brim with shops, jewelers, restaurants, bars, and clubs. It's recommended that you explore Fira during the earlier hours before major crowds hit and visit another village in the afternoon. Akrotiri is located next to the famous Red Beach and was destroyed due to a massive volcanic eruption around 1600 BC.

DAY 5- Santorini

For our last full day in Santorini we'll spend it relaxing on the beach and taking in the various water sports and activities that the city offers. If the water isn't your thing then wander the beautiful area of "Oia." Oia is the most famous village in Santorini and it is known throughout the world for the picturesque blue domed roofs that top the buildings. The village is situated on top of an impressive cliff and offers a spectacular view over the volcano of Palia and Nea Kameni and the island of Thirassia.

DAY 6- Santorini/Mykonos

Today we will transfer from our hotel to the port to embark on the noon ferry to Mykonos, about a 3hr trip. On arrival we will be transferred to our hotel for 3 nights stay. Take the rest of the day to explore the surroundings at your leisure.

DAY 7- Mykonos

Mykonos is one of the most beautiful and cosmopolitan islands of its complex "Cyclades". Traditional architecture, ancient windmills made of rocks and white sand beaches of incomparable natural beauty. We'll spend today on the water soaking everything in.

DAY 8- Mykonos

Today is your free day. Spend the day exploring Mykonos' vibrant neighborhoods if you wish. Get to know your fellow travelers while visiting Mykonos' gardens, stop by nearby museums, or do absolutely nothing at all. Today is yours to relish as you please!

DAY 9- Mykonos/ Athens

Noon transfer from your hotel to the port to embark on the ferry to Piraeus a 5 and a half hour ferry ride. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel by our driver. Rest of the day at leisure

DAY 10- Athens/Airport

You will be met by our assistant at your hotel and transferred to the airport by our driver for your departure flight.
